On
the day of the season two final episode of Veronica Mars,
this plucky little plane was spotted over Los Angeles and
Burbank, buzzing around CBS and the site of the new CW network.
CBS
and Warner
Bros have combined forces to launch a new TV network this
fall,
the CW.
This new
network
is replacing
UPN (from CBS) and the WB (from Warner Bros), taking some
shows from each network and adding some new material.
In hopes of showing UPN President Dawn Ostroff and CBS Chairman
Les Moonves that VM's fans are the exact demographic they are
targeting and they are fiercely loyal, some of the dedicated
pulled together a fundraiser on the Veronica Mars message boards
at Television
Without Pity. In the space of a
week, the "Guarantee
a Season 3" fandom raised over $7,000, and hired the plane
you see pictured to buzz the studios and surrounding area during
evening rush hour. The funds raised are also being used to send
clever gifts to the network execs and to fund a DVD donation
program so that public and school libraries can have copies
of VM DVDs. More than 100 sets of the Season 1 DVDs have already
been distributed.
